Physiotherapy in Kanata South – Stittsville. Hello, my name is Mokhtar Akbari. I am a registered physiotherapist and the owner and operator of Rideau Physiotherapy. I have been providing physiotherapy in Ottawa since 2005 and have recently moved my practice to the Kanata South – Stittsville Area, were I am working from the Agility Physiotherapy Clinic . I use a personalized approach and see all my clients myself one on one for 30 or 45 minute physiotherapy sessions. My treatments involve a combination of massage, manual therapy techniques, and customized exercise prescription. I have added training in osteopathic manual therapy which is a hands-on approach to helping rebalance the body. I am trained in Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Myofascial Release and advanced manual therapy. I use specific therapeutic exercises to help remove pain, or recover mobility and strength depending on my patients’ needs.
I also occasionally use modalities such as therapeutic ultrasound, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and interferential current (IFC). I am very practical in my approach and use the techniques that yield the best results for each individual patient.
The initial assessment and treatment session lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour. During this session, we will clarify your diagnosis and create a treatment plan together, taking into account your health needs and other constraints such as your scheduling availabilities and budget. My services are covered by most private health insurance plans.
My interest has always been in taking care of my patients in the most holistic way possible, with care and empathy. I keep up to date with the most recent advances in physiotherapy.
